Call for Nominations
Western Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (WACES) is seeking nominations for the Emerging Leaders Fellowship Program, to be held on Thursday November 9, 2016 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, at the Pinnacle Harbourfront Hotel in Vancouver, B.C., Canada.
We welcome you to nominate yourself if you are a masters or doctoral student with exceptional leadership qualities such as excellence in counseling, service, research, or teaching to the profession. In addition we welcome new professionals and clinical supervisors interested in developing professional leadership.
What the Emerging Leaders Program is all about:
Distinguished leaders from the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), WACES, and the counseling profession will host a workshop and provide breakout sessions on topics related to personal and professional issues that enhance leadership.
The Emerging Leaders workshop is designed to: 1. Help students and new professionals discover how leadership can enhance their own professional development 2. Enhance the diversity and vitality of leadership in WACES, ACES, and the in the counseling profession 3. Provide an overview of counseling leadership opportunities 4. Give you an opportunity to create a leadership timeline
In addition, the presenters will help connect you to opportunities within WACES.
This year, emerging leaders will receive a 50% reduction on registration for the WACES Conference. The WACES Conference committee will determine a selection criteria which considers the nominees’ commitment to the profession of Counselor Education and Supervision, leadership experience and potential, and participation in state, regional, and/or national Counseling organizations and conferences.
