Conference Registration Conference Registration is now open. Registration information, including rates and refund policy, can be found on the Registration page. All presenters must register by the early bird deadline in order to be listed in the conference program.
The Western Association for Counselor Education and Supervision is a NBCC Approved Continuing Education ProviderTM, ACEP #2075. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified.
The Hyatt is offering WACES a group rate of $239.00 per night. We recommend booking your hotel at your earliest convenience, as we anticipate it selling out. The conference will begin on Thursday, November 8th with the Pre-Conference and Opening President's Reception, so make sure to book your hotel accordingly. Our conference hotel room rate begins November 4th through November 14th, so consider extending your stay to relax in Sonoma County!
Travel to Santa Rosa The Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport has direct flights to many cities in the Western region, so we encourage you to book your flight directly into Santa Rosa. In addition, with several major airlines flying daily to Santa Rosa, it is easy to connect from cities all across the United States. The hotel is about a 15-minute drive from the airport. Uber, Lyft, and cabs are available at the airport. Call for Student Volunteers The 2018 Western Association of Counselor Education and Supervision (WACES) conference committee calls for student participants who would like to attend 2018 WACES Conference, November 8-10, 2018 at Hyatt Regency Sonoma Wine Country in Santa Rosa, California and offer volunteer services. Students accepted as volunteers are expected to assist with the organization of the conference. Students who provide ten or more hours working at the booths and other onsite activities will receive a free event registration to the WACES Conference.
Activities of student volunteers may include:
Assisting with registration and checking in attendees
Stuffing conference bags
Assisting with reception, opening session, workshops, and poster sessions
Providing directions and facilitating logistics
Accepted volunteers will be given the details of the assigned duties once the conference program schedule is finalized. If you submitted a proposal to present at the workshop and your proposal is accepted, your volunteer hours will be scheduled around your presentation responsibilities. Serving as a student volunteer is a great way to attend the conference with less expense, and learn from behind the scenes how a professional conference is produced. It is also a great way network with other students, counselor educators and supervisors from throughout the Western region. To sign up as a volunteer, please complete the Student Volunteer Application. Return the completed application with a copy of your student identification card to Katherine Feather.
