During the 2016 WACES conference in Vancouver BC, the WACES Career Connection will provide a large meeting space (Harbourside Ballroom I) throughout the day on Friday and Saturday November 11th and 12th for universities who have faculty positions available in Counselor Education or agencies with open counseling positions to meet with job seekers. In addition, the WACES Career Connection will also include a scheduled "meet-and-greet" event for registered job seekers to mingle with participating universities and agencies from 11:00-12:00 on Friday Nov 11 and Saturday Nov 12. Universities and agencies will be given an opportunity advertise their job and meet with job seekers in a comfortable atmosphere.
To prepare for the WACES Career Connection event, employers are given the opportunity to upload their job posting to a virtual dropbox that allows prospective job seekers to learn about their position ahead of time. Job postings in this dropbox will be made available to all job seekers. For job seekers, a virtual dropbox has also been made available for candidates to upload their abbreviated CVs so that employers may review their credentials ahead of the conference and potentially contact them for a meeting at the conference. Employers must post a position to receive password access to view candidate CVs. This service is free to employers as well as candidates. Please follow the directions below on how you can participate in this opportunity!
Due date: all position descriptions and vitas are due by October 21, 2016 (deadline extended).
A ONE PAGE position description from your institution/company
Contact information (name, phone number, email address)
In the "Short Message" box: Indicate if you are participating in the Career Roundtable and/or will be interviewing at WACES on your own time schedule. Also indicate how many representatives you will have at WACES.
Contact information (name, phone number, email address)
In the "Short Message" box: A note indicating that you are indeed planning to attend the conference in Vancouver, and will be available for interviews if necessary
Candidates are encouraged to bring copies of their full vita to the conference for any potential meetings with employers.
Note: Employers and job seekers must register for the conference. Job seekers are advised that although CVs are not visible to other job candidates, a job seeker's current employer who submits a position description will be able to view all CVs (including faculty from their own institutions who have sent in their CV to the Career Connection). Job seekers who know their institution has an opening in the WACES region are therefore encouraged to contact potential employers directly rather than submit a CV to the Career Connection.
