We are pleased to announce the Call for Program Proposals for the WACES 2018 Conference! The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Sonoma Wine Country in Santa Rosa, CA between Thursday November 8 to Saturday November 10, 2018. Early bird registration will be available at the start of Spring.
Types of General Conference Programs
50-minute Education Session
An education session is a 50-minute presentation that may be conceptual, training focused, or dissemination of research findings. Projectors will be available for presenters.
90-minute Education Session
A 90-minute education session is a presentation offering an advanced, in-depth examination of the specific topic(s) and should include experiential, skill- or dialogue-based, and/or reflective components.
50-minute Roundtable Session
A roundtable session is a 50-minute discussion where presenters can share ideas and engage participants in meaningful conversations.
30-minute Poster Session
A poster session is a 30-minute session for presenters to display and discuss their topic.
Desired Conference Program Topics
We are particularly interested in sessions that address the conference theme of innovation and collaboration in counselor education and supervision. Examples of innovative and collaborative topics include:
Cross-collaborations with faculty from different institutions
Innovative approaches to clinical supervision
Innovative approaches to school counseling
Affordable Care Act and integrated behavioral healthcare
Preparing counselors to work in primary care settings
Student learning outcomes and the 2016 CACREP standards
Neuroscience-informed approaches to counselor education and supervision
Technology-assisted counselor education and supervision
Ethical issues pertaining to social media and various forms of technology in counseling
International counselor education
Transgender issues in counselor education and supervision
We will also be accepting proposals pertaining to counseling supervision to include in our 2018 WACES Supervision Pre-Conference Learning Institute. If you are interested in having your presentation included in the Learning Institute, please indicate so on your program proposal.

The portal to submit program proposals is now closed.
We recommend that presenters prepare program proposals in a word processing program before opening the submission portal. Presenters are encouraged to cut and paste their proposal from a word processing program into the submission system. Only information listed above will be requested in the submission system.
You will not be able to edit your responses once the submission deadline has passed. Please ensure you have entered correct information, so we may accelerate the decision process.
